Printed title page within woodcut border, 9 plates coloured by hand plus a folding map, coloured by hand as well.

Though the title refers to Algeria, the other countries of the Maghreb are dealt with as well.
Jackson describes the culture of the various people of northern Africa; the many aspects of their customs and manners including details of daily life, the way they dress, their history, religion, etc.
