Volume I. Second edition. Landbirds in a second edition, followed by a supplement, 8vo. pp. xxxviii, 39 - 386, i, 50, (1). Contemporary calf over marbled boards, the spine divided in 6 compartments with the gilt title and volume number in the second and third compartment respectively.

Volume II. First edition. Waterbirds in a first edition, followed by a supplement, 8vo., pp. xx, 1 - 400, 1 - 49, (1). In a matching binding; the two volumes together an original set in contemporary bindings.

Bewick became famous because of his beautiful woodcuts, both with his volumes about the British quadrupeds and his volumes about birds.
