Two volumes, modern half calf, 8vo. The spines divided in six compartments by five raised and gilt decorated bands. Maroon labels in the second and fourth compartment of each volume, lettered in gilt.
The other compartments gilt tooled.

Illustrated with 13 plans, of which one double page and 5 lithographed plates plus 10 woodcuts in the text.

Collation vol. II: pp. viii, 332, 4 (ads), complete with half title and an engraved frontispiece.
Illustrated with 1 double page plan and 6 lithographed plates of which one double page and one folding, as well as a large folding map which partly  has been coloured by hand plus 11 woodcuts in the text.

Both volumes also illustrated with numerous woodcuts in the text.
